Examples of ChatGPT impacting small businesses
Welcome to the SMB Scoop. If you haven't heard of ChatGPT, you may be living under a rock. It's OK, happy to get you up to speed. Let me tell you about what I'm seeing as it relates to artificial intelligence (AI) and small business.
How ChatGPT will 100% transform government bidding & contracting:
My dad and I were having a conversation: "How might I use ChatGPT in my government consulting business?" In his business, they write a lot of proposals to win government/state/city contracts. We riffed on what ChatGPT could do here in the near future and how it might transform how he finds & acquires new government contracts:
Ask ChatGPT to gather and download all the proposals submitted in the last 5 years specific to the service that he wants to provide. Only include proposals that were for projects that had a total cost of $1,000,000 to $15,000,000. Add additional filters to really narrow down to the contracts that are relevant to your business (many submissions to government contracts are public so they should be easily available, or through a FOIA request which we could automate through ChatGPT too)
Ask ChatGPT to summarize the proposals downloaded in table format by showing the # of projects, the project focus, the total project cost, the company submitting the proposal, and the company name's website, the stakeholder on that project.
Now I want ChatGPT to write a draft proposal for a new consulting project I'm about to bid on that are similar to the ones I downloaded. Use the won proposals that were previously downloaded & use their fundamental structure and writing style to compose a 50 page draft proposal. Address all the questions outlined in the RFP (request for proposal which details exactly what sections need to be in the draft proposal). Insert additional sections of X, Y, and Z which I know to be extremely important to the consulting project stakeholder. The draft proposal should be in word format so that I can download it for easy editing.
This is just a single example. Doing steps 1-3 might have cost him $50-$75K in resources, coordination, time, manual drafting and review with his team before AI. With AI? Now he has a legit draft based on previous winning proposals in minutes.
But it goes to the heart of - how are we differentiating ourselves in the world of smarter AI? Almost every industry that requires professional services will be impacted. For small businesses, what was a necessary expense is now 'waste' if you have the proper understanding of how to use AI.
But after giving you an simple example...I want to know what you think:

Using Chat-GPT in a small business to create SOPs for your team:
So I'll admit that I was an Al skeptic.
But, Chat-GPT & Al saved my business over $100,000.
I am fully converted.

How a lawyer uses ChatGPT daily:
Interesting implications about professions like legal, accounting, and other service providers who may be impacted significantly by improved AI.
I’m a lawyer.
I use ChatGPT daily.
I feel like causing some chaos in my profession.
The following is PART ONE of a series I’m calling:
“Things ChatGPT can do right now that (maybe) you no longer need to pay lawyers for!”
