🟠 Deals, deals, deals: Keys to Sourcing an SMB Acquisition

Proprietary search, 6 list building tools, and sending outreach email

The SMB Scoop loves deal sourcing topics. Applicable to both aspiring SMB owners and current SMB owners. I’ve met a ton of entrepreneurs who aspire to ‘acquire’ rather than build from scratch. Most of them tell me, ‘it was hard to build from scratch…and I never want to do that again…so tell me about how to acquire my competitor so I can hit my financial goal’.

Sourcing a good company is easier than you might think. Honestly, I think there’s a lot of negativity out there that claim it’s impossible to find quality business. I cannot disagree more. There is a vast network of business brokers representing business owners seeking to sell/retire/transition out of their current business. Good companies for fair prices, sure it takes some effort but they are out there waiting for the right buyer. The naysayers either don’t get it or have already given up, which is fine with me.

My take on ‘proprietary’ (directly sourcing) an acquisition as a first time buyer. Beware! Suggest going brokered unless you’re special or funded with long time horizon
